This article analyzes through a Social Network Analysis (ARS) the factors involved in the educational context such as interpersonal relationships, family, teachers and the society, that influence positively and negatively the motivation of the children to develop their mathematical skills. This study was carried out at Centro Educativo Rural Las Tazas, Marsella (Risaralda, Colombia). This institution applies a pedagogical model called Escuela Nueva. The results obtained on the empirical framework done through survey and observation are based on applying concepts, approaches, experiences and debates on the teaching of mathematics generated along the didactic and learning teaching methods of this discipline, provided by important mathematicians.
