Abstract: Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is considered a major public health problem because it is common in clinical and non-clinical samples of adolescents, are defined as the deliberate intentionality of body tissue to the body itself without suicidal intent. In this study, the NSSI are related to family affective bonds, affectivity is a product of the tendency of the subject to generate affective bonds with the other, and is defined as a union of several subjects that is strengthened with time. The aim of this paper is to identify the possible relationship between family affective ties and the action of adopting non-suicidal self-injury behaviors in adolescents between the ages of 11 and 14. The results show that there is no significant relationship between the two variables, however, it is possible to identify methods used and levels of parental attachment. The aim of this research is to provide information on the approach of NSSI and the implementation of a comprehensive approach aimed at the educational, social and family environments of adolescents. Future research is proposed to provide more information on affective factors related to non-suicidal self-injury behaviors in adolescents.
