Abstract: The Kamëntsà Biyá indigenous community is one of the many ethnic groups inhabiting the Colombian Amazon, specifically in Putumayo, Colombia. This region is home to various members of the community, dispersed throughout the territory. Within this context, the Kamëntsà Biyá indigenous reserve in the Villa Nueva village in Mocoa is characterized by the presence of a migratory phenomenon, which impacts diverse aspects of community life. This article aims to present, discuss, narrate, and showcase the roles played by women in the community, such as traditional healers, midwives, masseuses, herbalists, and artisans. By examining their contributions within the migratory context, this study sheds light on the vital roles played by these women in preserving cultural traditions, community health, and sustainable livelihoods. The findings highlight the importance of recognizing and valuing the knowledge, skills, and resilience of indigenous women in the face of ongoing social and environmental changes in their ancestral territories.
