This article shows an analytical approximation of the discourses that emerge in the school San Jose in the town of Alcala-Valle, during the period of 1997-2004, as a place where operates the pastoral and neo-liberal rationality raised by Foucault governmentality. The arch-genealogy as a method for the development of this critical reflection makes evident how the pastoral power forms a lattice with neo-liberal government technologies, to manage the everyday school life and organise subjects. It makes visible the discursive and non-discursive practices delimited by enunciative formations, comprising specific parameters characteristic of the Catholic Church as the pastoral power, aimed at driving behavior, creating a concrete and “correct” way of subjectivity of the educational community
