This project seeks to prevent ankle sprains during basketball practice by means of an orthotic device that can be used during the development of the sport, without limiting the movements of this sport, in order to generate a product adapted to this activity and implement new concepts in the market for this type of product. The Activity Centered Design methodology is taken as the basis for the development of the design process, since the main focus is on the activity and not on the characteristics of a specific user. Therefore, a biomechanical analysis of basketball and ankle movements is carried out in order to determine the requirements to generate adequate design proposals. With the aim of implementing other types of materials and technologies, with the possibility of generating new design concepts that can be used to prevent ankle sprains, affecting as little as possible the development of sports activities.
