La microempresa es una unidad económica creada por iniciativa de suspropietarios; su aporte inicial de capital proviene principalmente de ahorros detrabajos anteriores, aportes familiares y préstamos bancarios o extrabancarios.Asimismo, una de las problemáticas de la microempresa correspondea su estructura de financiamiento. La decisión de financiamiento tieneimplicaciones sobre sus indicadores de desempeño financiero, tales como elnivel de endeudamiento, el costo de capital, el riesgo asumido y la capacidad definanciamiento. El objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer los resultados másrepresentativos sobre la percepción que tiene el microempresario respecto alefecto que produce en su gestión financiera la adquisición de crédito bancarioy/o extrabancario. De esta forma, se busca aportar elementos que contribuyancon el mejoramiento en el nivel de educación financiera que poseen losmicroempresarios. Esto se logra mediante una investigación de corte cualitativa,apoyada en la metodología descriptiva.
