/Abstract: This paper is intended to elucidate the statute of time in capitalist discourse and in psychoanalysis. With this purpose, a brief historical approach is made to locate the particularities of capitalist discourse, and its influences in the treatment of time. It shows how time has been treated as an object of consumption due to the production imperatives that this discourse promotes. On the other hand, the Freudian postulates related to the timeless characteristic of the unconscious, and the Lacanian contributions regarding the logical time and the unconscious as discourse of the Master are retaken, finally analyzing the differences that exist with the approach of time in capitalist discourse.
