Abstract: The system was carried out seeking the service to the educational community of the Higher Technical Institute of Pereira, which for a long time had the collection of the chip as a waste, thus damaging people who had to handle heavy weight when loading the container to the garbage chut. of the institution and the damage generated to the environment as it is a highly corrosive metal. The design of the system was addressed in three moments, the collection, transport and compression of the waste. For the collection, a hopper was designed to facilitate the accumulation of the residue and allow it to be directed to the interior of the container, and a pressing element that allowed the chip to be accommodated inside the container to give greater filling capacity. For transportation, a lightweight structure with a bearing system was designed. For compression, a container adapted to the collector was designed to resist high pressure and a retractable extension adaptable to the hydraulic press.
