Abstract: In this document there is a historical and conceptual contextualization of the industrial revolutions, emphasizing the fourth industrial revolution to understand first of all its impact, relevance, and characteristics; and present secondly, the results and the respective analysis of a survey sent to large companies in the city of Pereira with the aim of knowing the current state of implementation in 4.0 technologies belonging to the fourth industrial revolution. The surveys were interpreted, and it was possible to find within the companies of the Pereira region, which 4.0 technologies are implemented, how it is related to the types of economic activities, the area within the company that implements them or would like to implement them, and which ones. they would like to implement within 5 years for their company. /Abstract: The fourth industrial revolution, also known as Industry 4.0 or Intelligent Revolution, focuses on the optimization and self-management of processes using technological tools, such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Software Engineering, 3D Printing, Big Data, among others. Within these technologies is also the Internet of Things (IoT), which is fundamentally about interconnecting devices via the Internet that allow data to operate automatically, to achieve greater efficiency and productivity. The specialized literature shows great interest in this area and in how to get their practices regulated and standardized to make the IoT a mature area, because there is a need for an improvement in their practices, since at the time of creating IoT systems, uses a variety of models that may cause hardware and software systems to be incompatible, communication, security and privacy issues. This paper proposes a systematic review of literature to identify best practices and main components used in the creation of IoT systems, to subsequently apply terminological extraction and model these practices using the representation of the core of the SEMAT Essence. It is hoped that this work will contribute to the academic and business community so that they can use IoT systems more assertively, enhance and improve industrial processes, and make greater use of ICT tools.
