Abstract: The purpose of this reflection article is to raise a discussion about the possible participation that cognitive biases have in the exercise of clinical cognitive-behavioral therapy by way of the construction of the therapeutic relationship. A documentary review of research articles and doctoral theses was carried out on the effect that these biases may have in this relationship. The findings and reflections underpin the understanding of this relationship as a process in which expectations are built that have the potential to guide, affect and even favor therapeutic exercise, and the possible results derived from it. Thus, in this conceptual scenario, ethical dilemmas are posed that could have an impact on clinical practice.Publicación Acceso abierto Informe Final de la Práctica Profesional realizada en el Programa Ambulatorio Fe y Esperanza de la Fundación Hogares Claret, en el período comprendido entre julio del 2012 y mayo del 2013(2013-07-22) Velásquez Otálvaro, AlejandroHogares Claret Foundation is a social re-education institution which works for restoration of rights impeded to adolescents who are in vulnerability conditions, as working for restoration of general citizenship rights by means of therapeutic work with law offender adolescents. This population, discriminated against and stigmatized in different ways, has gone through difficult circumstances related to their familiar life, social interaction, economic condition, physical and psychological development, and educational training. These difficulties have contributed significantly to most of these adolescents also has fallen into drug use and abuse, which constitutes one of the most severe problems because of why they are affected. Among the vulnerability the Foundation adolescents have lived in, therapeutic work from psychology, more specifically from the individual clinical intervention and group work focuses, has generated positive changes in their thinking and behaviors, as in their time management. One of the fundamental features that support these achievements is the recognition they manage to do about the law fault committed, and the desire to correct it, while continuing being part of society in a more upright and ethical way. Thus, Hogares Claret adolescents have found in the institution an important fulcrum on which to deposit expectations and efforts, so that they manage to recognize themselves as people with rights and duties, and as valuable and worthy of respects human beings who are part of society. /Abstract: To achieve a proper performance throughout the environment, high complex processes of executive control configure the most complicated decisions to achieve goals. Among these processes, interference suppression discards no-relevant stimuli which act as distractors. This variation of inhibition was the focus of attention in the present research, which sought to observe the correlation between estrogenic modulation of inhibitory cognitive control and the ovulatory cycle with its hormonal implications. More specifically, the fundamental goal was to recognize whether there is any affectation of the interference suppression mechanism under certain levels of Estradiol hormone at different moments of the ovulatory cycle. To finding these answers, researchers worked with ten female participants of 18-26 years old. The summons was made through voluntary subscription, and the ten women were selected by means of the Raven Test, and the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview. The recognition of the hormonal moment was made by means of the 17 beta-Estradiol Saliva, which is an enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative determination of 17 beta-Estradiol in saliva. The experimental procedure was carried out with the experimentation Software named Stop-Signal/Flanker Task, with which was made the measure of participant’s performance on Go and No-Go cognitive tasks, on three sessions corresponding to each ovulatory cycle phase. The results analysis was made by means of ANOVA of the average reaction times corresponding to the Go trials. This analysis was constituted by three intra-subjective factors: condition (congruent, neutral and incongruent), hand used (left and right) and ovulatory cycle phase (menstrual, follicular and luteal). Results revealed a meaningful reduction of the reaction time during follicular phase, when estradiol is on high levels compared to menstrual and luteal phases. These results showed negative correlation between estradiol levels and the effectiveness of interference suppression, which concludes that the higher is estradiol level, the less interference is suppressed from environment, discarding then less no-relevant stimuli.
