Facultad de Ciencias Humanas, Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2009Este artículo se originó a partir de la investigación realizada en la línea “Psicología Clínica y de la Salud”, la cual tuvo por objetivo conocer los efectos del Counselling sobre los niveles de depresión y ansiedad en pacientes mastectomizadas; investigación que dio lugar a la inquietud de conocer el impacto que pueden llegar a tener los diferentes estilos de afrontamiento asumidos por las pacientes con cáncer de seno en la recuperación de la enfermedad. Tema que se presenta en este escrito, teniendo en cuenta el aporte que puede hacer el Psicólogo para brindar apoyo que permita afrontar de una manera más positiva esta enfermedad, ya que el aumento en el índice de población femenina diagnosticada con cáncer de seno es cada vez mayor y sus implicaciones físicas pueden ocasionar efectos psicológicos que impactan o afectan la recuperación así como la calidad de vida de este tipo de pacientes. /Abstract: This article originated from the research conducted in the line "Clinical and Health Psychology".
