2023-08-302023-08-30http://hdl.handle.net/10785/15353Este artículo aborda la tecnología como dispositivo de poder en las sociedades de control, tema bastante controvertido aún entre los mismos científicos, profundamente contradictorio y complejo. Desde una perspectiva funcionalista, se aspira llamar la atención sobre esta temática, con la certeza que no habrá respuestas a los interrogantes que suscita, pero con elconvencimiento de que la sola reflexión del lector, constituye un logro significativo, en aras de una postura sensata y responsable para afrontar el devenir tecnológico. Para aproximarnos al tema, se parte de la siguiente pregunta ¿Es posible que el ser humano esté trasladando la capacidad de pensar, imaginar y actuar a la tecnología? Concebir así la tecnología propone, de manera más reflexiva,  iniciar este recorrido por el desarrollo conceptual del término, continuar bosquejando las formas de sociedad en el marco y significado del progreso, para referenciarla en la sociedad postindustrial o de control y finalmente con el apoyo de algunos expertos en el tema, intentar señalar las virtudes y peligros del actual progreso tecnológico.This article takes technology as a tool of power in control societies, quite a controversial, profoundly contradictory and complex issue, even within the scientific community. From afunctional perspective, it is essential therefore to draw attention to this topic, convinced that there will be no responses to some of the questions it brings up. However, there is also the conviction that with the reflection of one, a meaningful achievement will have been reached towards a more sensible and responsible posture to face the future of technology. The starting question proposed to approach the topic is thus; to what extend are human beings translating their capacity and responsibility to think, imagine and act into technology? In order to do this, there is a conceptual development of technology to understand it as a tool of power and dominance in a reflexive manner. There is also a sketch of society's way and the meaning of progress to reference technology in the post industrial or control society.
