Para la realización de la misma y poder abordar el tema fue necesario la implementación de una serie de entrevistas a los encargados de las empresas cuya actividad es la operación de carga en el aeropuerto, con el fin de poder identificar factores claves que determinen la importancia de esta actividad y a su vez puedan mostrar si su capacidad es utilizada de una manera óptima por los empresarios y productores de la región. Los factores a tener en cuenta fueron: caracterización de la carga, volúmenes y peso de la carga movilizada, tipología tanto de mercancía como de tecnología, destinos nacionales e internacionales y procedencia de la misma, cifras y datos estadísticos tanto de las empresas de carga como de aquellas que regulan y controlan dicha actividad, y otras variables de relevancia que formaron parte del proceso investigativo. Esto para dar a conocer las tendencias actuales del sector permitiendo mostrar el potencial real de la operación de carga aérea y así dinamizar la economía de la región.The main objective of this research project is to establish the importance of the freight operation in the Matecaña International Airport influence area. In order to execute the project and be able to approach the subject, the application of a series of interviews with the responsibles of those companies dedicated to the freight operation at the airport was necesary, with the purpose of identifying key factors that define the importance of this activity and simultaneously can indicate if their capabilities are being used in an appropiate manner by the region's entrepeneurs and producers. The factors taken into account were: freight caracterization, freight's volume and weight, typology of both the goods as the technology, national and international destinations and it's source, estatistical facts and data from both the freight companies as those that regulate and control this activity, and other relevant variables that took place in the research process.
