Esta iniciativa deriva en IntraMuros, encuentro para contribuir a la reflexión en torno a la corriente artística focalizada en la transformación estética y social del espacio público urbano, proporcionando un punto de encuentro entre artistas, gobernantes, gestores y aficionados al street art. Todo ello nos lleva a concluir que esta iniciativa ha permitido mejorar espacios degradados del barrio de Lavapiés con la ayuda de artistas,diseñadores y ciudadanos. El arte urbano contribuye a la transformación dela imagen de la ciudad y el modo de recordarla por parte de los vecinos,modificando la interacción entre ambos.“Muros Tabacalera” is an urban art initiative where plastic creators share theirinterventions resulting to be a tool of public and community expression. This initiative derives from IntraMuros, an encounter to contribute to the reflection onthe artistic current focused on the aesthetic and social transformation of the urbanpublic space, providing a meeting point between artists, governors, managersand street art fans. All this leads us to conclude that this initiative has allowed theimprovement of degraded spaces in the Lavapiés neighborhood with the help ofartists, designers and citizens.
