Es por esto, que es necesario, revisar las condiciones de la vivienda existente en la ciudad de Pereira, con la finalidad de determinar sí es posible realizar adecuaciones, alcanzando estándares mínimos de sostenibilidad y confort. Para lograr este objetivo se genera la siguiente pregunta: ¿Cuáles son las estrategias sostenibles actuales que puedan ser implementadas en viviendas VIS existentes de la ciudad de Pereira, para reducir su impacto medioambiental? Teniendo en cuenta, aspectos climatológicos y geográficos, para determinar que dentro de un mismo clima existen variaciones y como afectan el diseño arquitectónico de las viviendas. Para responder esta pregunta de investigación, se inicia con la selección de tres ubicaciones de la ciudad de acuerdo con su altitud, para posteriormente desglosar la vivienda en cada uno sus elementos arquitectónicos, estructurando y categorizando las estrategias posiblemente implementables. Como resultado de esta investigación se definen algunos lineamientos de diseño para cada ubicación, según los datos climáticos, las encuestas y simulaciones analizadas. Dejando abierta la posibilidad para nuevas investigaciones basadas en este documento. Abstract: Currently, sustainable architecture in homes has become an important pillar for protecting the environment and improving the comfort and well-being of its users. This is why it is necessary to review the existing housing conditions in the city of Pereira, in order to determine whether it is possible to make adjustments, reaching minimum standards of sustainability and comfort. To achieve this objective, the following question is generated: What are the current sustainable strategies that can be implemented in existing VIS homes in the city of Pereira, to reduce their environmental impact? Taking into account, climatic and geographical aspects, to determine that within the same climate there are variations and how they affect the architectural design of the houses. To answer this research question, it begins with the selection of three locations in the city according to their altitude, to later break down the house into each of its architectural elements, structuring and categorizing the possibly implementable strategies. As a result of this research, some design guidelines are defined for each location, according to the climatic data, the surveys and simulations analyzed.
