Resumen
In Grupo C. Lozano Frexco S.A.S., agro-industrial enterprise engaged in the development, processing and marketing of pulp, frozen concentrate and fresh fruit, was found a point for improvement on inventory management. Specifically, the rotation of drums used to store the processed fruits, since they always used the last batch that was entered the storage area, leaving without using the first ones. The company also identified weaknesses in the controls used to provide information about stored drums, which would serve as a tool for identifying slow rotating products, in order to improve that situation. To improve the needs, was used the FIFO method, First In First Out, which suggests that the first products to be purchased or stored, be the first to use or sale. The obtained results were very useful for the company. It was mentioned the importance of proper management of inventories, as well as how vital is to implement of the FIFO for the enterprise. It was possible to establish a process that prioritizes the first batches of each product, based on information collected through the database of the area of logistics. Similarly, were adopted rotation systems for those products that are not used very often, due to reports that identified the total of stored drums.
