Abstract: No economic sector was prepared to face a health crisis like the one generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, a situation that was not unrelated to gastronomy worldwide, making it one of the most affected industries, evidencing the bankruptcy of thousands of restaurants around the world. Only in Colombia sales in this sector fell 81% and more than 48,100 restaurants closed their doors permanently. This crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic generated damage of such magnitude that some of the most important and representative restaurants of the traditional cuisine of the cities of Armenia and Pereira had to close their doors forever, without the possibility of reopening. And in the same way other restaurants had to reinvent their model of business in order to survive this unprecedented crisis. For this reason, the journalistic project Covid a la Carta aims to demonstrate and contextualize, with the help of background information, testimonies of affected owners, voices experts in gastronomy and investigative exploration of a narrative nature, with contributions in the qualitative and quantitative, the process of economic crisis in the gastronomic sector in Quindío and Risaralda, which led to the permanent closure of traditional restaurants in the cities of Armenia and Pereira, as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.
