A través de la revisión teórica se concluye que las consecuencias del sobrediagnóstico están relacionadas con problemas de autoestima, ansiedad, depresión y los efectos secundarios del consumo de psicoestimulantes. Abstract: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children is a problem that has been increasing in recent years; It has a high prevalence in the child-youth population, due to the use of diagnostic tests not adjusted to the reality of the pathology, together with unethical economic interests, thus there have been erroneous diagnoses. ADHD is defined as a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with the functioning or development of the sufferer. This review article aims to recognize the consequences of overdiagnosis of ADHD in children. Overdiagnosis is understood as the diagnosis of a disease that will not cause symptoms throughout a person's life, but whose treatment and follow-up, on the other hand, has an impact on a physical, psychological and economic level. Through the theoretical review, it is concluded that the consequences of overdiagnosis are related to problems of self-esteem, anxiety, depression and the side effects of the consumption of psychostimulants. While it has been found that ADHD has a high genetic and neurobiological contribution, it is necessary to broaden the look and recognize that there are other psychosocial, environmental and context factors.
